General Strike in Spain called for 29 March

The two largest trades unions in Spain have called a general strike for Thursday 29 March. The strike is expected to affect public transport within Spain and also impact services at Spanish airports. Public demonstrations are also expected to be held in city centres which could affect local services.

The Foreign and Commonwealth are advising UK nationals who may be in Spain at this time to check local information for transport delays and allow extra time for transfers to and from the airport.
